POSITION DESCRIPTION

Title:                           Alpine Programs Event Lead

Reporting to:             Director of Alpine Programs

Position:                    Seasonal Full Time

The primary role of the Alpine Programs Event Lead is to deliver the best Alpine Events on the escarpment. Key areas of responsibility will include organizing event logistics, coordinating the race crew/volunteer team, and equipment and safety management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute alpine race events in accordance with ACA/PSO rules and regulations
  • Develop detailed event schedules, timelines, and staffing plans
  • Coordinate with operations on course preparation and lift access
  • Train, schedule, and coordinate race officials and volunteers
  • Communicate clearly with coaches, athletes, officials, and staff before, during, and after events
  • Monitor weather and snow conditions and assist with contingency planning
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and risk management protocols
  • Manage event equipment, supplies, and inventory
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in alpine ski racing, event coordination, or operations
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work long hours, early mornings, weekends, and holidays during the race season
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of alpine racing rules, formats, and safety standards is an asset
  • Minimum Officials Level 1 certification is an asset 
  • Able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Able to work outside in varied weather conditions
  • Ski club related knowledge is an asset  

HOURS OF WORK

  • Must be able to work variable hours including weekends and holidays during the ski season 
  • Ski Season (November to mid April): 4-5 days per week, Wednesday to Sunday

with Monday and Tuesday off

  • Off season duties required
